I bought this to use on my golf cart so I can keep my phone close by and have GPS easily accessible. I used one of those mounts that use rubber bands at the top and bottom to hold the phone in place. It worked, but the rubber bands blocked the Face ID (iPhone) camera, and it was a little awkward to take the phone off every time I wanted to snap a photo of native wildlife (Florida, birds, turtles, alligators). . When properly adjusted, this mount makes things easy: just twist the cam lever and the phone pops out, flip it back and the phone snaps securely into place. And with the right setting, the phone stays in place even if you forget to flip the camera. However, when you turn the dial to adjust the width of the mount to fit your phone, it moves very slowly and requires many turns to move the mount arms. At first I thought they wouldn't move, but they did. I'm not sure how big a phone can be, but there are enough flaws for an iPhone 12 Pro in an Apple leather case.
