Review on πŸ’€ Skull & Crossbones Cast Iron Wall Mounted Bottle Opener: Quirky and Convenient Access to Refreshments by David Estevez

functional, well made but could work better

I had this hung in the garage next to the spare fridge. My husband uses it at work in the garage. Good build quality. It's cast iron and quite heavy. Unfortunately silver screws are included. When used, it looks like the poor guy got a horrible piercing. I used some black screws that I already had on hand and they look much better. I also ordered a more conventional bottle opener to put in the kitchen so I can compare how well two different ones work. The way this guy works is you have to push the bottle cap in there and then pull the bottom of the bottle towards you and up. (The more conventional bottle opener works differently: you tilt the bottle, insert it, and press down.) Of the two methods, this method is the most likely to result in wasting a few drops of your drink. It also seems to have a hard time grasping the bottom edge of the lid at times, so it takes a few tries to do so. a conversation starter when friends have finished and head to the garage fridge.

Pros
  • bar and wine tool
Cons
  • some small items
