Fuel pump Delphi FG0052

Arrived quickly! Very well packaged, all details present. This fuel pump was installed on my 1999 2WD Chevy Blazer V6 with a plastic tank. I've never changed a fuel pump, but most shops around here charge anywhere from $500 to $1,000. I haven't paid anything. It only took me about 4 hours to get to work. In fact, if you don't mind getting dirty, it's not difficult at all. You will need to replace the plug with the newer one that comes with the new pump. I decided to solder mine but it comes with butt connectors which will work as well. It was quite a cumbersome job, especially putting the fuel tank back in place. If you have a friend it will help a lot. I saved a lot of money and got a sense of accomplishment by doing it myself. If you're considering doing this job, here are my suggestions: If you don't have access to a hydraulic lift, get your truck up the ramps as high as you can. or coasters. Drain the fuel tank completely before throwing it away. (also makes it a lot easier to put it back under the truck) Remove the spare tire under the truck to make room for work. 3 fuel lines are connected to the fuel pump. The two lines have plastic clips that need to be squeezed to release the lines. Be careful not to damage the plastic clips on the fuel pump as you will need to remove them from the old pump and reuse them on the new pump.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
