I am for generics. But not so much in this case. All basic human trash cans can use regular store-bought bags as long as they fit the size of your trash can. Obviously a family of 6 with a lot of junk (remember to recycle. lol) buying these custom bags probably isn't a good decision. I have never deviated from custom bags with the letter 'M'. They fit perfectly in my "glass" and prevent odor. It's not advertised but the bin is vented so I have a day or two before I have to put it outside for a bin day. I have raccoons, skunks, squirrels. Do you understand. Nothing got into my pockets. Before my basic human trash can was bought, critters ended up in my external trash cans/pockets. If you can afford it, I recommend these bags, as well as the company's products. I know why people look at trash can reviews (an elegant word). I do not know. If you are reading this, you can answer yourself. I insist on quality and these "liners" are top notch. Wade
