So far I have been impressed with the quality and features but I only just started using it.

I will make this a very short review because I have very limited experience with this so far.I purchased my first wood stove that I have ever owned and so I have been buying a lot of items for it that I have never purchased before. One of the items I purchased is this moisture reader and the first thing I noticed that separates this from other models I have read about online is that this is calibrated for different types of wood because different types of wood carried different moisture content depending on the wood itself. And so far I have been impressed it just takes two AAA batteries and it comes with batteries but I decided to put lithium batteries in it that will last longer. The outside casing appears to be well constructed because I was worried it was going to be very flimsy. It has a very large display compared to other models and as mentioned earlier I have not used it for all of the features it is capable of performing so I have no way to comment on that.I purchased it because here in Kenai, Alaska there are two types of firewood you can purchase that is cut and split and pre-dried. Spruce, and birch wood but from what I have read birch makes a better firewood of the two and I purchased one cord of birch firewood and to have it delivered it costs about $275 a cord so before purchasing the wood I wanted to make sure that it is indeed dried firewood with less than 13% moisture content give or take or else I will not be able to use it immediately in my woodstove. So I purchased this from Ebay because the price was very reasonable and after installing the batteries all I had to do is press the center button to turn it on and press the right side button to choose from A, B, C, D, etc. depending on the species of wood I am using which as mentioned before I am using birch and then I simply pressed it into the wood using the very sharp metal prongs on the top of the unit. And it immediately tells me the moisture content of the wood so what more can you ask for as long as it is accurate.I will update my review as time goes on and as I become more familiar with this device. This review was written on January 26, 2021 at 2:30 PM on a worm18° day outside here in Kenai AlaskaDon B.
