I bought these because they (or something similar) kept appearing in social media ads. If the ice/wet snowpack is a bit uneven or loose, they work better than my flat scraper. The round insert at the end slides out easily (and easily gets lost when wearing gloves or in the snow) but I rarely use this part so I just leave the top hole empty to make it easier on the slightly awkward shape to grab the cone at the end. Generally I like this for most types of ice/snow clearance, but when the ice is thick and very slippery like on an ice rink you need something more intense/powerful. Ice.
