Review on 🍿 KUFUNG Kitchen Silicone Microwave Popcorn Popper Collapsible Bowl, BPA Free, Quick & Easy, Siz: Small, Color: Rose Red by Jackie Chapman

We are big popcorn lovers in our family and eat several pounds of popcorn every few months. We've cooked it on the stovetop and in popcorn, but this is my first microwave popcorn (it wasn't one of those instant popcorn packages). I love this idea because it's so simple and takes up less space. After using it, however, I have mixed feelings. I followed directions exactly, added 1/4 cup kernels and +1 Tbsp butter and continued to mix on high speed for 1.5-2 minutes. I was listening and wasn't really listening to much pop, so I added another minute. After 2-3 minutes I hear LOTS more popcorn. When it was done I took it out, salted it and tossed the bowl around. I noticed small black spots on the popcorn and realized that all the popcorn was littered with small bits of burnt fragments. After all the popcorn was done, there were a lot more unpopped grains than what I typically experience with stovetop cooking or popped popcorn. Also, some of the kernels were burned, which was the source of all the small burned fragments covering all of the popcorn. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this popcorn. On the one hand, it is SUPER practical, easy to wash and takes up very little space when folded. On the other hand, it produces a small amount of popcorn, about 20% of the kernels remain unopened, and some kernels tend to burn when popped. Since we popcorn at least once a week, I'm going to try a few more times and see if I can switch up the method to see if I get better results. If so, I'll update my review when I can get this to work better.
