This clay absorbs paint and varnish well

I used this clay to make face pencils and I can cover with water based color and it doesn't streak or discolour like Crayola brand clay (I used terracotta) . I painted the facial features, applied them with acrylic paint and then covered the face again with a water-based clear coat. It comes out great.

Whoa!! This is very hard, I can’t even use it. Not like other DAS products. Disappointing.
