Terrible. Hard as a rock.

The clay was so hard that we could not use it. We tried adding water and worked forever hoping it would loosen up. It looked like a brick and shattered like chunks into crumbling earth. Terrible.

This clay absorbs paint and varnish well

I used this clay to make face pencils and I can cover with water based color and it doesn't streak or discolour like Crayola brand clay (I used terracotta) . I painted the facial features, applied them with acrylic paint and then covered the face again with a water-based clear coat. It comes out great.
