Hook size numbers are dropping

I was doing my very first project with a 6mm hook when to my surprise the number on the end of the hook disappeared over time - and I'm only talking about 10 hours of use. I need to figure out how to label this hook so I know what size it is. I would not recommend buying these hooks.
