Review on Oster 5712 Electronic 6 1 Quart Steamer by Andrew Roberts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works very well in small appliances

We're trying to eat healthier and my old steamer was getting dusty, so I started looking for something more than just a rice steamer. The Oster 5712 had some good reviews and the price was pretty decent. I've had it for a few months now and use it very often. He does exactly what is necessary. I steamed veggies in it and it came out great. I also have boiled eggs and it's very easy to make. Some of the downsides are important to note, but that probably wouldn't have stopped me from buying this device. I think others might want to know. The timer window is black letters on a gray background, requiring you to bend down to read it. Some bright neon LED lights would be better. The maximum and minimum fill containers are molded plastic and are also difficult to see. Be sure to fill the device up completely as it doesn't take long to run dry. Luckily, it beeps to let you know. Finally, the filling opening of the container is too small or too narrow, but the tray can be lifted and you can fill the device this way, bypassing the filling opening. Install the bottom tray and each container and plug them into an outlet. I am very satisfied with the steamer and according to the table it steams very well. Incidentally, the vapor starts within 35 seconds of switching on, so there is practically no delay. I am waiting impatiently
