Maybe people who care about how they "look" should go to fashion shows or design clothes. It seems that a significant percentage of Harley enthusiasts are primarily concerned with looks rather than ride. I'm a racer with 100,000+ miles and 4 off-road rides. For too many years I wasn't that smart and wore a "spotted" brain bucket. The brain bucket was handy, but the wind noise and shaking were severe; but I have come to terms with that. After the accident my boss told me not to drive - our dog died 6 weeks ago and the 'don't drive' decision was reversed to deal with his loss. I drove 200 miles last weekend and realized that the bucket wasn't helping anymore. I bought this Bell helmet and have since ridden 60 miles on the Autobahn and WHAT a difference! Much less hassle now, with less wind noise and bumps (no windshield) and a smoother ride for my head. I don't care how I look with a helmet. This is the perfect helmet for old-school riders who are used to turning heads and want an easy upgrade. It is comfortable! The quality is very good - I can wear sunglasses with a helmet - I feel a little smarter with the right helmet. When I'm 60, I'll take protection and let others worry about their looks. However, this is a relative assessment. Going from a basic Brain Bucket to this Bell Custom 500 you get a big improvement in wind noise and bumps, not to mention much better protection in the event of a fall.
