Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Monroe 58600 Load Adjust Shock Absorber by Monroe by Todd Vesci

Good product best in Shocks Struts and Suspension

Like other Monroe Sensatrac products this is a good product. As mentioned in other reviews, this raises the rear a bit (not too much, maybe an inch max, maybe less) and is a bit more difficult to install than a stock shock. In addition, the smoothness is really good despite the increased carrying capacity. My recommendations for installation. two jacks and basic hand tools are required. Work one side at a time. Remove the old shock absorber, install the upper bracket of the new shock absorber. Raise the car by the frame to relieve the suspension. I used my factory jack to relieve the suspension by laying it back as far as possible before it buckled to clear the rear axle. After installing the upper bracket and relieving the suspension, use a second jack to position the bottom of the shock. It will shrink as it rises. I used a large nut as a spacer between the jack and the damper so I could use the jack to set the damper in place. Take your time and basically line up the bottom hole. Your favorite hammer will help solve the alignment problem. No matter what. Install the soft top first and use the vehicle weight to your advantage during installation. If you don't understand my instructions. These probably aren't shock absorbers for you. I've only driven it a few hundred miles, but the ride quality is surprisingly good given the increased cargo capacity. The ride is much more comfortable than with a worn shock absorber.
