I have a convertible HP Specter x360 13-ae0xx with ALL the bells and whistles including 2 USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports. I bought a black USB-C to SATA cable AND a Samsung 500GB 860 EVO EXACTLY like the picture and I could never get this piece of junk to work! When I connect it to my computer, it only recognizes it as ASM1153USB3.0TOSATA. THAT'S IT! It doesn't recognize the SSD and says "This device is working properly"!?!? If it doesn't work - that's the definition of "work as it's supposed to" - then I think it's GREAT! It can't be a power issue as they are Thunderbolt3 ports. And most importantly I can't find any driver or help on the internet as I assume the WHC doesn't support their products. And I'm far from a novice PC user. They may have confused the end of the USB-C cable with the end of the SATA adapter when they assembled this thing because the end of the SATA adapter says "USB3.0 TO SATA 3G". Shouldn't USB 3.1 be written for USB-C? I'll just give it a bad grade and throw it in the trash for $9. You get what you pay for. Garbage!
