Scrap and NO product support!

I have a convertible HP Specter x360 13-ae0xx with ALL the bells and whistles including 2 USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports. I bought a black USB-C to SATA cable AND a Samsung 500GB 860 EVO EXACTLY like the picture and I could never get this piece of junk to work! When I connect it to my computer, it only recognizes it as ASM1153USB3.0TOSATA. THAT'S IT! It doesn't recognize the SSD and says "This device is working properly"!?!? If it doesn't work - that's the definition of "work as it's supposed to"…

This allowed me to take the laptop's HD and drag the files from there to another PC with a USB port. It doesn't allow you to take Windows OS and install it on another computer, in other words, it doesn't allow you to clone. Other software or hardware may be suitable. I dont know. What it allowed was extracting user files from an old laptop that had other hardware issues to render it useless for recovering files from a broken computer but with a fully functional SATA hard drive.
