Review on Sea YS 01 Solis Strobe by Bob Walters

I did 14 dives with this flash before the battery compartment flooded. I was very pleased with the performance of the device in TTL mode connected to my Olympus TG-6 camera in an Olympus PT-059 body. The power delivery up to 2ft is impressive and my underwater shots are much better than when using ambient light and custom white balance. The battery cover closes 1/4 turn. You can slide the lid to make it appear closed even though it isn't. Knowing this makes me feel confident that this problem can be avoided by taking the utmost care in proper alignment. Mine flooded on the 11th dive. It worked fine for 2 more dives but now it's not working. Many thanks to Revain and their subsidiary Online Scuba for allowing me to return the unit for a full refund. I will buy another.
