This was a Christmas present for a friend. It works well with some DVDs, but not with those that are particularly important to her. Memorial video from mother's funeral. The diskette contains *.IFO and *.BUP files. When a built-in DVD drive is put in an old laptop, it just starts working. Nothing happens when saving to this drive. My research leads me to the conclusion that in Windows 10 on a new laptop that doesn't have its own DVD, either the file association for the program that boots the disc is missing, or the processes used for *.IFO and *.BUP files together absence. Software problem, not hardware problem. I'm sure we'll figure out what's wrong, but it's annoying.
