Just a minor annoyance

Okay, you're looking a combo device that records and plays your VHS tapes AND plays DVDs. You don't want to spend too much money, but you need something that works well. This can be your unit. I've been using mine for several months with no problems except for one annoying trait. It's difficult to stop the tape exactly where you want to stop. It's like a freight train; It takes 15 seconds to 3 minutes of reel/tape time to stop or play. This is especially frustrating when scrolling through unwanted (as opposed to informative and desirable) ads. It's also a pain when you want to repeat a single sentence, but the best you can do is repeat most of the scene. It's just not precise enough to stop/rewind/play exactly where you want it. Picture quality is very good and easy enough to use (although the remote control has as many hard-to-read buttons as a space shuttle), but it lacks the precise control found on VHS tape and is tedious and frustrating. Overall, it's still a lot of tech for the price. You just have to decide how much patience you have for inaccurate ribbon control.

Pros
