No longer working DVD

Part of the DVD no longer works. I had a Sony and now a Panasonic, both DVDs died in less than 2 years and Panasonic died 5 days after the warranty expired, numbers! still works! I use Panasonic phones and TVs. I'm done with your DVD players.

Pros
  • understandable also for the old
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Good value for money

I've had this unit for over 5 years with no major problems. I use the component output for DVDs and the composite output for VCRs as I have many connection options for my TV. composite picture is good on my tv and with dvd the only thing i have is dvd freezes. says check some dvds for stains recorded by mt home but not great. I think overall it's a good deal for your money and usually when I clean it fixes it, although I've tried other players without cleaning and they read fine. I also wish…

Pros
  • Dolby Digital and DTS surround outputs (for use with a compatible AV receiver and speaker system)
Cons
  • Not sure

Just a minor annoyance

Okay, you're looking a combo device that records and plays your VHS tapes AND plays DVDs. You don't want to spend too much money, but you need something that works well. This can be your unit. I've been using mine for several months with no problems except for one annoying trait. It's difficult to stop the tape exactly where you want to stop. It's like a freight train; It takes 15 seconds to 3 minutes of reel/tape time to stop or play. This is especially frustrating when scrolling through…

Pros
  • Compatible with DVD movies and CD-Audio, DVD-R, DVD-RAM, Video CD (VCD) and CD-R/RW, MP3, WMA and JPEG
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Panasonic back on top

you'll find this "combination" at a very reasonable price. Setup was very easy and everything worked right away. I particularly like the two toggle buttons located about halfway down the remote control, one for the VCR and the other for the DVD. Now a word of caution: I bought this unit for our small home gym where we wanted something that could play both VHS and DVD. Watching TV there is simple, almost primitive. It doesn't even have two-channel audio inputs or an S-Video input. In the other…

Pros
  • 4-head VCR offers smooth slow-motion playback, multi-angle DVD viewing, karaoke compatibility
Cons
  • High price
