I bought this for a Dell XPS 12 Ultrabook with Windows 8. My research on this article revealed that it is compatible with Windows 8 and the company's support site had drivers for Windows 8. Unfortunately, those drivers didn't work. I lost 3 hours with a Kensington tech (who brought my device but couldn't get the docking station to work) and 2 hours with a Dell rep (who did the same). In total I lost 8 hours with this since I initially spent 3 hours trying to find and fix the problem. Dell sent a technician to my home to confirm that my motherboard and USB ports on my laptop were working, which cost me an additional 2 hours. Everything is fine with my new laptop and this service representative has confirmed that this device is not compatible with Windows 8. FYI I know the dock works because I connected it to my old Dell laptop with Vista and it worked fine. So I'm giving it two stars because it has a snazzy design and build quality, but I deducted three stars because I incorrectly advertised Windows 8 compatibility. Now I have to send it back :-(
