Great device! on docking stations

This is a great device. I was able to use it to connect my MacBook Air to an HDTV that I use as a monitor. I can also connect a Logitech webcam, an Apple keyboard, a USB encryption device, and an iPad charger. Good device for its money.

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Can hurt

NOT compatible with Windows 8

I bought this for a Dell XPS 12 Ultrabook with Windows 8. My research on this article shows that it is compatible with Windows 8 and the company's support site has drivers for Windows 8. . Unfortunately, these drivers did not work. I lost 3 hours with a Kensington tech (who brought my device but couldn't get the docking station to work) and 2 hours with a Dell rep (who did the same). In total I lost 8 hours with this as I initially spent 3 hours trying to find and fix the problem. Dell sent a…

Works perfectly! in Docking Stations

I thought there might be an interference between Ethernet speeds and USB peripherals, but there isn't. Excellent connection speed and extensive functionality. Video output works well, although the maximum resolution is 2048*1152, which is a bit disappointing.

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • Upgradable

Works computers and accessories

I use this dock at work with an old Gateway laptop. I installed a USB3 PCMIA card and docking station. It works well but from time to time it can slow down and even show a blue screen. I think it's the card and d-station combination that's causing problems, but it works fine.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Nice design, poor performance

I bought this product to use at home with my MBP. I love the look of the docking station, it fits my desk layout perfectly. The problem starts when you have to go to the website to get the software to make the video part work with Mountain Lion when the drivers for the Windows line (except Windows 8, also online) were included. I wanted a product that would allow me to connect to my external backup drive, provide other USB ports, another monitor and a wired Ethernet connection. This product…

Pros
  • 4 USB 2.0 ports on the back for peripherals like keyboard and mouse
Cons
  • Older model
