We bought 2 of them. Both were used in the same place for the same time. After less than 2 hours of intermittent use, one of them needed new batteries. I assumed I was using crappy batteries and replacing them with new ones. Problem solved I thought. Another hour of running time and it happened again. This time I took the batteries off the dead one and put them in another one and it worked fine. I put new batteries in the dead one and it worked. So I can only conclude that the failed device has zero tolerance for batteries as they even lose a little voltage. I asked for a replacement and hope it doesn't have the same problem. I will edit this review if this happens.
