Review on Lisle 63250 Range Filter Wrench by Scott Holland

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Designed to loosen, not tighten

This wrench is great for loosening, but while it seems like a slightly different design would also allow this tool to be tightened, in this case it doesn't. This disadvantage is not important for oil filter work as not much torque is required to reinstall the filter. However, if you are going to use the tool for another application, be aware that you will no longer be able to use this tool after removing it to install. This came as a surprise to me as it is not clear from the product description. You might want to take a look at the Neiko Oil Filter Wrench, the World's Best Universal Oil Filter Wrench - 3 Grips 2 Ways if it has the reach you need. He's getting weaker and he's going to rise. For work without an oil filter there are probably better large diameter wrenches, but I'm sure they are more expensive.

Pros
  • Fits 3 1/8" to 3 7/8" filters.
Cons
  • Almost OK
