13 months in our brand new house with brand new appliances and of course our microwave door voids the guarantee. They said they would replace the parts in good faith, but we would have to pay for a service visit ($99). I figured there must be another way to fix this. I disassembled everything and didn't have time to buy a new door, I was a little at a loss. Well I figured if I could put some putty in the hole to hold that screw in place (because the plastic inside was totally destroyed) and then glue it on, it might work. So I bought this putty and another plastic glue from the same company. I followed the directions and kneaded the putty until the blue and gray were blended. I put putty in the hole, put the handle back in and glued it overnight. I removed the tape and it seems the handle never broke! I didn't even use any other glue. It's been great so far! PS The handle of our microwave oven is what you need to open it, which means there is no button to open the door. So you can imagine all the wear and tear from the pulling! I'll update if and when it's over.
