A wonderful book in every way! Marcia not only gives us, dedicated knitters, a wonderful selection of completely original knitting patterns, but also tells a lot of interesting things about the countries she has traveled to. There are interesting explanations about the symbolism of the motifs and their origins, and gives a lot of information about the materials and the different animals they came from. The book is very attractively designed and also interesting for non-knitters thanks to the many photos and explanations. One of my daughters (not a knitter) spent the whole evening reading and enjoying it. But if you are a knitter this is a must have. In northern South America there is a tradition of making intricate pouches (with their own symbols and meanings) that are detailed and there are many beautiful intricate designs in this book. It's great to use up the leftovers in your stash. And it inspires me to try variations on the themes presented by Marcia Lewandowski. This is by far the best knitting pattern book I've bought in a long time.
