Good: I like the circle of the lasers and how the measurement range doesn't get too big over distance. Bad things: During the recent cold weather I was able to use this to determine how close pipes and motors were to freezing but gave very inaccurate results. It turns out that the readings are useless unless the device is in a "room temperature" environment. After thinking about it for a long time, I'm still not sure whether to set C or F when setting up alarms. The upper range is technically configurable anyway, but it defaults to 1400. This is very confusing because the last digit is smaller than the others - is it part of the timing parameter? Tenth degree? I am not sure. But you can adjust it one degree with one click, so if you want to do it 212, you have to push buttons for an hour - no exaggeration. It says you can adjust the emissivity - but it took me a long time to figure out how. All other settings are shown below, but when in emissivity setting mode nothing changes on screen at all. FINALLY it turned out that he was accidentally messing around with other knobs, if the change area is empty the emissivity numbers above can be changed. But again only individually. So if you want to go from 0.95 to 0.70 you have to click on it 25 times. Pooh. Holding it down doesn't auto-advance it. Most of the time it seems pretty accurate, but sometimes it gets lost. When I first checked the temp in the freezer it jumped from -29 to -15. I tested with a regular thermometer and got -4, and on later tests this meter gave similar temperature readings. Searching the web I couldn't find any site that would give me more information on how to run it. Or any website of any kind about this company.
