I got this thermometer for melting copper, I need a high temperature reader. Copper melts at 1800 degrees F, but when it does melt, BTMETER says it's only at 876 degrees. It is impossible for liquid copper to have a specific temperature. it's nowhere near the right temperature.

I ordered this product and neither the lasers nor the reverse light worked. I ordered a replacement A and after 2 days the laser and reversing lights stopped working. I am trying to contact the company to no avail. I then contacted Revain and they were of no help and I still have to return both thermometers, losing a lot of money in the process due to downtime and lost productivity.

I love this thermometer! I'm really pissed that I didn't get any of these a few years ago because they make cooking so much easier! It was so ready to use that all I had to do was point to it and press a button and it would display the temperature on the screen. Good: I like the circle of the lasers and how the measurement range doesn't get too big over distance. Bad things: During the recent cold weather I was able to use this to determine how close pipes and motors were to freezing but gave very inaccurate results.
