At 73, I've worked on dirty oven racks for many years. I have a porcelain finish. Following T's instructions and even after leaving this product on the surface for a few minutes, nothing dissolved. Even using a Scotch Greenee pad didn't fix the burns. Nothing really showed up. I used my bartender friend again and the green pillow. Stains were removed instantly as Bartenders Friend has a mildly abrasive formula. I also placed each grill in a ziplock bag with a couple tablespoons of ammonia and then sealed the bag for an hour. This will soften the plaque and make it easier to remove. Therefore, this gas stove cleaner and degreaser is only suitable for light surface cleaning, not for baking.
