Review on Superior Pump 99555: Versatile Universal Plastic Pump for Enhanced Performance by Alif Wills

The check valve did its job and only allowed water to flow out of the pump and not back through it. I also bought a 24 foot hose and 1/3 horsepower pump. They were recommended in the "Items also purchased with a check valve" section. The pump worked very well as described. I wish there was a higher power available as it took some time to lower my pool for the winter closure. According to the instructions, I was about 34 GPM since I was pumping from about 5 feet underground. I have a 40,000 gallon pool and it took me just under 3 hours to get the water about 10 inches deep. The hose worked great as I wanted the water to drain off the pool deck. I would recommend buying a second length of the same hose set. 24ft was acceptable but 48 would have been better given the 5ft fence from the bottom of the pool and the 10ft distance from the pool to the fence, I only had an 11ft drain hose. from the pool deck. I've read some other comments about a hose adapter that doesn't connect to the pump outlet. Although the pump outlet is much smaller than the hose adapter, the check valve kit allows the pump, check valve and hose to come together and function as advertised.
