Review on πŸ” Brass Pressure Control Device with Enhanced Safety Features by Jon Manning

Good Relief Valve - Works - Brass body looks flimsy

This is a good little relief valve that is essential for any pressure vessel. This one will get the job done and is within my tank's certification range. I used this to upgrade my ASME certified 150psi working pressure tank to 175 to match my compressor. This valve opens at 200 psi. It was difficult to remove the old valve from the regulator manifold because the tank manufacturer used a blue thread sealant to prevent leaks. The body of this type of 1/4" valve is very delicate and must be screwed on or off very carefully not to damage it. I applied a small amount of Teflon based sealant and tape to the threads and torqued it enough to avoid of leaks at working pressure Passed Bubble test: no issues with thread or valve seat leaks It has four air pressure relief holes so the body is particularly prone to shearing under aggressive rotation I replaced had two oval outlets and couldn't bear to remove The hex nut is located at the top of the body assembly and all torque goes through the weakest part of the brass body Otherwise a good choice That is the reason for the 4 stars.
