In short: I'm still using my old chalk line. I like the visual indication of a red straight line, but this item comes with a built in rotating base which I think distorts the line, makes it difficult to draw the same line twice and introduces errors into your work. I bought a laser to put up walls in small spaces but the laser base can easily flip and take a straight line and make it deviate from a point. Doesn't work well for setting any angle of inclination of the aircraft. like stairs. I bought an aftermarket pole to hold the laser thinking it would help, but it's just another mousetrap to add to this jig. Looking back, I would have preferred to save the money and spend it on another tool.
