I received this ring to match the opal earrings I have but unfortunately they sent me a size 6 instead of a size 8 so I cannot wear it. This is a beautiful ring, the opal sparkles just like the picture, the colors are evident on close inspection. The opal is ¼ inch square and is surrounded by cubic zirconia stones that stretch across the ring. The stone is created not real opal but looks authentic. The description of the bracelet states that it is a 14k white gold and 925 sterling silver plate marked on the inside of the bracelet. If it's real 925 sterling silver it's always listed on the piece of jewelry so I had to look for it as the ring is so small and delicate. I don't know which part will be the 14k white gold plate if it's not higher than sterling? Aside from not being the right size, I'm not a fan of prongs. They stick out a little higher than I prefer. They harmonize very well with the stone so it's not unattractive, probably more of a problem. The ring can be gifted and comes in a ring box with a polishing cloth. There are no stamps or marks on the box. So if you keep the ring for yourself the box could be used for a future jewelry gift. Since I don't like it, it will pass to my daughter. She prefers discreet jewelry and I think she will love this ring.
