Now that I'm retired, I'm starting to do small repairs that I never had time to do while I was at work. The shock absorbers on my aluminum Craftsman box had worn down over the years, but still held the lid open when I lifted it. So it was a little annoying, but bearable at the time. I cleaned and polished the box and decided that now is the time to get new shocks. I did a little research online at the big stores and found their prices on the high side. Revain makes those purchases easy and affordable when you look closely at what you have and buy a replacement. A small flat-head screwdriver easily pries the retaining clip just enough to remove the existing shock absorbers. Installation is as easy as putting a new one on the ball head. The entire installation process, including going to the shop to get a screwdriver, took about 5 minutes. It is very nice how the lid opens gently when I pull the handle. Should have done that many years ago.
