I definitely think these arms (metal) really helped me mount the bike tire and tube on my new indoor accessory bike, but they aren't perfect. I wish one was longer because I had to struggle to get the last bit of tire on the wheel, but as mentioned, these trainer tires (Continental brand) are very stiff and the most difficult thing to put on the tire. .actually they don't stretch. I broke the plastic lever the first time, so you'll most likely need a metal type. However, I punctured the tire tube on my first try, possibly because after scratching the wheel a few times when trying to attach them to the wheel, the lever slipped slightly and formed a sharper edge on one of those levers (probably afterward had to be sanded down at the edge). In any case, it was not an easy task.
