Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not impressed. - my new rating

I got this monitor and connected it with the included displayport cable. My computer/video card didn't see anything and the monitor said it wasn't receiving a signal. I tried the DP cable with a BenQ gaming monitor I had and the computer/graphics card recognized the monitor straight away and displayed the video with no issues. So I called Acer tech support and they got me to reset the monitor and turn it back on. They didn't fix the problem and said the monitor was defective and I could either send it to Acer at my own expense or try to return it to Revain or exchange it. I have requested a replacement from Revain. The replacement came and I connected it. The computer/video card detected the monitor via DP but reported it as a normal monitor and set the resolution to 680 x 800 @ 60Hz. So I called Acer support again. The tech support agent was incompetent and asked me to keep repeating it. I know he heard me because he repeated what I told him. He kept blaming my setup and telling me to install NVidia monitor drivers because Acer didn't have current monitor drivers. NVidia drivers are up to date, Windows says I have a better driver for the monitor, and Acer only had drivers for Windows 8 which Windows 10 didn't install, Acer also kept putting me on standby for 2 minutes, does not solve the problem and does not offer solutions for the next steps. I contacted Revain support and they only advised me to return the monitor and buy another one. I can tell you that I was very unimpressed with Acer's quality control, technical support and warranty policy. I won't be buying any Acer products anytime soon unless something wonderful happens. My recommendation is to avoid this company's products.
