I have a U3415W and a U3417W with dual monitors, so I'll just comment on the differences. Two key differences: Less backlight blur on the U3417W. Most noticeable in a dark room when viewing dark content. For full-screen movies, the U3415W isn't the best choice. More curvature in U3417W. The U3415W is too flat for such a wide monitor. This is especially important in a multi-monitor setup where you may not always be able to sit directly in front of the monitor. As a standalone monitor, the U3415W is good. Both differences make the U3417W better. Not worth the current 50% premium, but definitely better. There are other, smaller differences: - Thinner bezel on the U3417W. Approximately 10mm for U3417W and 13mm for U3415W.- The U3417W has two USB ports on the side and two on the bottom. The U3415W has one on the back and three on the bottom. Needless to say, both monitors are great. There is no difference in image quality.
