Unit comes with a guide flange bent onto the wheel. Wasn't noticed when you first looked at it when you unpacked it and it wasn't installed several months after delivery. They rub against the metal wire every time it is wound up and unwound. Don't know how they bent, the metal is pretty strong and probably didn't just fall off on delivery. The wheel also sits a bit sloppy on the axle.
