My husband is very happy with this carafe. Holding it upright with a wine aerator (venturi) that fits perfectly into the opening, he pours the wine into the bottle, effectively aerating it twice as it hits the hole and squirts into the carafe. The decanter is angled for maximum air exposure to continue aeration. This decanter does its job well; if the wine needs more aeration, he pours it again. Skip the suggested oenophile decanter brush — it doesn't go through the neck of this decanter. That's what I spent my money on. Remember to consider the large surface area of this decanter when considering where to store it.
