First of all, these are great shoes. If you want to ride flat pedals with studs, this is the perfect shoe. The rubber is very sticky and fully adheres to the pedals. A HUGE improvement in traction over something with a more prominent sole (like a hiking-style base shoe). Keep in mind that the shoes don't have a very deep profile - they're designed for pedaling, not hiking (so if you're pushing your bike up steep, tricky trails, it gets a little trickier). So why only 4 stars - fits. This shoe runs small. I always have 10.5 and sometimes 10 shoe sizes. I had to return a 10.5 and order 11 to get the perfect fit. So tip: order half a size larger).
