I've been using Verbatim discs for 20 years. From CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R/DL, DVD+R/DL and BD-R/DL. I stayed with them for so long because they have always been the most reliable writing medium and also had a durability unmatched by cheaper brands. So far I've used Verbatim dual-layer BD-R discs, which came in 3-packs in jewel cases. I've burned about 30 or so with no problems with the disc. This 10 pack spindle I just received on Monday is completely useless. Of the entire package, only ONE was a successful burn. Another was almost finished but failed to retreat. Most others failed to write on layer break while others experienced various session crashes. Whether I've tried 4x or 2x, same results. The only CD I left in the jewel case burned out with no problem. I almost thought this might be my drive, but decided to go with a smaller brand instead. I have purchased 10 spindle 50GB Plexdiscs which are identified as RITEK-DR3-000 in Image Burn. The work is impeccable and costs about $10 less per spindle. To say I'm disappointed with Verbatim at the moment is an understatement. I've stayed with them all these years but it broke the deal for me. I know I might get a bad batch but I don't want to risk it again.
