Review on Ibera Bike Rack Frame Mounted Adjustable Sports & Fitness for Cycling by Patrick Diaz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

WOW! This shelf totally exceeded my expectations

This shelf is exactly what I was looking for. Aesthetically, I like that all the details are black. Ibera and others make similar racks that are mostly black, but the parts that mount under the seat are silver. I prefer all black so I bought this shelf instead of other Ibera shelves. In addition, it is very durable, comes with all the necessary parts and is relatively easy to assemble and install on the bike, making it 100% flat. (Some racks never look straight and that worries me.) Another reason I bought this rack is because I already have a good Ibera PakRak on another of my bikes (this bike has a seatpost mount to mount PakRak hold) and now I can use one bag on 2 different bikes. Finally, my situation is slightly different because I have a Yamaha e-bike that features a patented rack-down mounting system that connects the seatstays and chainstays. I was able to use the provided hardware for everything except this section. I had to use (2) 6mm x 1.0mm x 20mm bolts and (2) 6mm x 1.0mm lock nuts. But if you have a standard installation, you don't need anything extra. And to put it in perspective, Yamaha wants $210 for its trunk, fender and taillight combo. Frankly, that's absurd. This rack is better for a fraction of the cost (at least for me as I already own an Ibera RakPak) and MUCH cheaper. I am very happy with this purchase. I've included a fourth photo to show I can still use my Topeak DynaPack bag which is smaller than the Ibera PakRak if I don't need all the space (and weight) of the PakRak. . It gives me a lot of options and I like the options.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
