Review on Zoo Med Floating Aquarium Log: Enhance Your Tank with a Small and Versatile Addition by Kelly Thompson

Be sure to grind sharp edges! And there is no way to install it in the kit.

My betta loves it. It provides protection for my Betta in a 10 gallon tank. He spends several hours a day hiding in it, relaxing in it, or just running away from what's bothering him. Tip: Position the log so you can easily see the betta inside, preferably with the long end of the log perpendicular to the front of your tank. don't roll, don't roll or anything. I didn't have the peeling paint problem that some people have. However, I felt sharp corners. This is a big no-no if you have a skinny-finned betta. To do this, I simply took some sandpaper (100 grit or so is fine) and sanded down the rough edges. Just feel the roughness around and within the log. It can be sanded off easily. From unpacking to grinding, immersing in warm water, drying and placing in the tank, it took less than 20 minutes. If you want to install this somewhere, come up with something. It has no method of fastening or attachment. One idea is to use super glue with suction cups and attach it that way, or use string and attach the string to something that doesn't move, like the inlet of a filter. Mine is held in place by the glass lid as it sticks out of the water just enough to touch the lid. I plan to buy more for my other aquariums as it looks nice and provides a good hiding place for fish. and fun for you to see.
