I'm surprised there are negative reviews for this item. It's great and MUCH better than OEM. I just got into my truck and I think I see a problem. The device has markings on the driver and passenger side. When installed correctly, the armrest just snaps forward with the block, but slides along the tiny guides built into it. I installed it backwards, so it's on a hinge at the back of the compartment. This gives me easy access to it and the front half of the bottom compartment. I can move it as needed. In my configuration, this only latches the lid when the device is all the way back. Trying to close the lid in the wrong position for the way you turned it will lead to frustration, but it's an easy fix. Flip it over or slide it to the other end and voila.
