This product no longer supports connection to persistent network clients such as DVR. The DVR updates the programming manual, gets the clock, firmware updates, graphics for shows and actors, etc. I prefer ethernet wifi for reliability, but it's all for naught if the switch dies multiple times a day. The 'fix' is to squeeze into the entertainment console and unplug the device, effectively causing a hard reboot. If this 'green' (power saving) block is trying to save power or misinterpreting the state of the client device (DVR, Roku, Apple TV, PS4, XB1, DVD, Smart TV, etc.), it doesn't matter - What matters is this connection when you need it, so not "reliability" but "AVAILABILITY". Is it available if I want to stream a recording from one room to another? no Can the phone app access the device when the switch is off? no Will these devices be updated quickly or at all as I describe? I do not recommend.
