Has a modern look. The instructions were clear. One of the cool things is that you don't have to climb any stairs to change the direction of the fan blades. There is a button on the bottom right of the remote control. The remote control works with both fan and light. Great if you live in an old house that doesn't have a wall switch to control the fan and light. There is a hook on the mounting plate. This allows you to secure the cable attached to the main body of the fan. This keeps your hands free while connecting the power cables to the terminals of the remote control receiver. The instructions have such a picture but it doesn't indicate what it is for. I just had an aha moment and thought that's what the hooks are for.
