These would be ordinary kitchen scissors - shorter, sturdier, more versatile than ordinary scissors if it wasn't for the beautiful and colorful toucan design. I didn't buy them for myself or for a person, I gave them away as kitchen scissors. This is part of a coordinated gift where I am giving away a flower vase, balloons and these scissors as a 'flower arrangement' set. None of the flower scissors I could find were made to make an attractive and coordinated set so I went with these scissors which by the way are just as nice as the picture. Having not opened the blister pack I cannot confirm the sharpness or other specs but it looks well made and finished, just as sharp and just as heavy as my best kitchen scissors.
