VCR/DVD combos are hard to come by these days and I was happy to find an inexpensive option to play my old VCR tapes and record from my TV. However, for a VCR to record TV shows, you'd have to have someone who knows physics install it to understand how the components work together, or ask a nerdy teenager. You will need additional cables, which you can get at a computer store. These cables are not expensive (about $3), but they are not available from RadioShack or BestBuy. Once installed, the way you use the VCR is different from how you used it in the past, which takes some getting used to, but I'm glad I have mine. That works great!
