So I go to the dealer because my key ring no longer works. So they gave me a price: $195 for a keychain; $57 per key (I only have one key); $81 for key fob programming. I need to get out of the car and pick it up later. Hmm, I think it's really difficult - I mean, the new key fob has to match my car's electronics perfectly. It makes sense I see. I thought about how much I loved the convenience of a functional key fob, and a recent annoyance that I'll now put behind me (the alarm will now go off when I get in the van). but I still felt that the dealer had cheated me. So I came to Revain: $67 Dorman 99154 Keyless Entry Transmitter $24 Two extra key fobs WITH PACKAGES OF KEYS DELIVERED TO MY DOOR. Called my 11 year old and 8 year old sons. Gave my 11 year old an instruction manual. We're heading towards the Suburban. It finds the OBD2 connector. The 8 year old confirms it looks like an OBD2 connector. Each of us takes a keychain. 11 year old child reads instructions. SUBURBAN!BOOM! Dorman!
