Beats Dealer or Locksmith Fee $180

This worked great on my 2015 GMC Acadia. This newly purchased used car only came with a key and fob, so I bought another key and fob. Everything I read said the only way to program a new key fob was to go to a dealer or auto repair shop. They asked for ridiculous amounts of money. Then I found this product from Dorman and decided to give it a try. It worked as advertised. As others have pointed out, be sure to read all instructions before attempting to use it. Now I have three keys andโ€ฆ

Easy and saved a lot of $$$

Wow! That's all I can say. The GM dealer wanted $350 for the keys, fob, and programming. They said it is due to the materials and 1 hour of labor required for programming. With this product it literally took 3 minutes to program the original and new keyfob. Just follow the instructions. And add a trip to my local locksmith who made sure to copy the key and showed me how to program the chip in it (took less than a minute), it was $40. Do yourself a favor if you need to duplicate a key fob forโ€ฆ

Works great, there are a few minor caveats to understand

Works great on my 2014 Chevy Suburban. Get in the car with your remote controls, follow the instructions and your fobs are programmed! 2 small problems: 1) the instructions don't say that programming your new fob will cause your other fob to stop working with the car. You must program all fobs at once. So in this case I had to program again, with all 5 fobs on hand (I had 2, bought 2 spares and 1 came with this programmer.) 2) When I programmed all 5 fobs, the programmer stopped at 4 fobs andโ€ฆ

Would buy again and recommend to others

I have a 2014 Buick Enclave and it worked perfectly according to the instructions provided, I would buy again and recommend to others. However, the key fob is not the one in the picture, the one in the photo is similar to the OEM. I would give 5 stars if the picture shown looked like the keychain actually shipped. In the attached image, note the circular inset around the panic and trunk release button, which is slightly different. UPDATE: Now that I've used it, I've realized that if you everโ€ฆ

Best money best spent on interiors

I lost one of my 2012 Buick Enclave GM OEM key fob and when I bought a new one and programmed it at a locksmith shop it became such favorites as these Never save the position of the seat or steering wheel. The locksmith said it wouldn't save him, but for over $100 he could get it direct from GM and only charge me $40 to program a new one. I figured I'd live with that for the price. I was told about it and decided to give it a try. I had to reprogram all the key fobs (5 with new ones in theโ€ฆ

Watch the programming video first

You only have 3 programming sessions with this so watch the programming video first (available on the Dorman website and YouTube) so you know what to do. Programming wasn't difficult. You'll need to program the included remote AND any other remotes, so prepare them all together. From packaging to full programming in less than 5 minutes (not counting the video preview time, but that only adds about 5 minutes). Others say the remote doesn't work as well as the OEM and is easy to disassemble. This

Great inexpensive solution to a 'problem' that shouldn't be!

I was buying two other remotes and was thinking of getting a scanner so I could program them when I stumbled across THIS little gem! Now I have three good remotes and one device that I can use a few times. It was so easy that my kids (12 and 14 years old) sat in the car with me and we each programmed the remote control. My only gripe is that unfortunately they limit you to three programming sessions before sterilizing the device itself, but that's a minor issue considering this setup worksโ€ฆ

THE EASIEST $242 I'VE EVER SAVED!

So I go to the dealer because my key ring no longer works. So they gave me a price: $195 for a keychain; $57 per key (I only have one key); $81 for key fob programming. I need to get out of the car and pick it up later. Hmm, I think it's really difficult - I mean, the new key fob has to match my car's electronics perfectly. It makes sense I see. I thought about how much I loved the convenience of a functional key fob, and a recent annoyance that I'll now put behind me (the alarm will now go off

13 Tahoe Interior Friendly

When we bought our 13 Tahoe LT from a used Chevy a few years ago, they gave us two key fobs and two keys, as you would expect when buying a used car that has hardly been was used. Well a key fob didn't work and they pretended to be stupid as to why because as a used lot they weren't able to do any real repairs and of course they didn't want to talk about how much GM craves your key fobs program like a 6 year old kid. Guarding his Halloween candy. But before it became a problem and I didn't want
