Review on ⏰ Optimized Universal Timer for Fans by Leo Fairchild

Great way to save money on costly repairs

My Armstrong system's fan was not working and the local HVAC dealer found the control board had failed. They told me the board would cost over $800 not including the labor cost to replace it. If you know a little about electronic circuits, this sounds overpriced for a simple circuit board containing a few relays and other common parts. I checked the board for the part number and found that it is no longer made, but Honeywell has replaced it and a number of other boards with the ST912U1011. In my case it was almost one. for a transfer of wires from the old board to the new one. As this new "universal" board replaces many others used in systems containing air purifiers, humidifiers etc. the board is supplied with wire harnesses allowing it to be used as a replacement in these systems should the need arise. As an added bonus, the new board features a diagnostics LED that flashes various codes to help you diagnose various system errors. Just as a warning. If you are unsure how to safely turn off the system, or have any other doubts regarding replacing this part, I strongly recommend that you hire a qualified HVAC technician to do the job. If you get it wrong you could damage the new board or, more importantly, yourself.
